Done writing songs for now

I've been on a writing streak lately so I think I have around 50 songs to choose from now. I'm toying with the idea of making 3 records: one kinda slick, one at the school and one on 4 track cassette old school style. I'm going to post another folder later with all the brandy new songs. The songs that you guys have already are basically going to be on the 'slick' record. I'll be getting in touch with you all in a week or 2 to make plans to get together for drinks and discuss. Some recording will commence in December and into the spring I would think.

I got this one covered I think – but open to suggestions.

Song notes part 1

Hi Fellas.

Here are some quick notes that I’ve been thinking about. Any constructive criticism is welcomed! If there’s something you particularly like and you have an idea for – I’m all ears.

I’m thinking of doing an EP with John Agnello – maybe 5 songs. The rest I’m going to record probably at the school. If you have suggestions for songs you think should be on EP let me know please.

I have tons more songs so I may bother you all with more. As for now these are the A list songs and the most finished.

Here We Go Again:
Very rough demo. Would like to go for a Cheap Trickish sound. Mark – those guitar lines in the choruses – something along those lines. My playing is a little stiff with them.

Magic Pills Lonely Spills:
Straight up rocker. Shaun, Scott, Mark, Kenichi – straight up live recording.

Tolls:
It’s done.

Ship Captain Too:

Re-record with Scott drums. I need to clean up my vocals. Mark – dual guitar lead with me?

Viking Fastener:
Would like to do one with Shaun, Mark, Scott. With overdubs by Vin and Sean of IGBF.

Smother Party:
I have a better version but it’s at my office. A punk rocker.

Beeping Under the Floorboards:
A fun lil’ thing. This is all Vin and Sean of IGBF. And Scott of course.

Almost Said:
Would like to try one with drums. I have an amazing electronic musician fellow that will fill in – just under the mix – an ambient soundscape kind of thing - Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Shaun, Scott, Mark and me.

Summer:
Scott, Mark, Vin (percussion/shakers/backing vox?)

Mark – those guitar lines?

Too Much Tomorrow:
I think Scott and I w/ tons of overdubs. I’m getting pedal steel for this one.

Irish Wake:
Mark – guitar fills and tearing lead guitar. I want to get a real clavinet and real bagpipes.

The waiting for something to happen:
The first half w/ wurli is staying – the second half total re-record – Mark, Scott, friggin Crazy Horse style. guitar leads – me and Mark and shaun for like an hour at the end. Sorry if the song drags. With a band it’s gonna groove. Promise.
